Bridging the Automation Gap: How Loop & Xjenza are Making Smart Tech Accessible

From day on, Loop's mission has been to make automation accessible to everyone. Our experience working with small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across Malta revealed a critical gap in the market: the available tools simply fall short.

We found an unserved group of businesses caught between two bad options:

  1. Enterprise-level systems that are prohibitively expensive, driving smaller clients away.

  2. Hobbyist-grade tools that result in a patchwork of temporary fixes, making systems unmaintainable and unscalable in the long run.

The Boutique Hotel Problem

Let's take a real-world example: a small boutique hotel owner with 15 rooms.

They want to create a special guest experience—seamless check-ins, intelligent lighting and HVAC that activates on arrival, and automatic shut-offs when rooms are empty to reduce waste. They are also environmentally conscious and want to monitor energy consumption to optimize operations, perhaps even to secure a green loan.

Their options? They are forced to choose between:

  • A traditional BMS (Building Management System) designed for a 300-room chain, with its massive price tag and vendor-locked hardware.

  • A custom-built "solution" that risks being unreliable, unsupportable, and ultimately frustrating for both the owner and their guests.

Large-scale integrators aren't interested in this business, and the owner can't afford them anyway. This is the gap we are here to fill.

Our Solution: A Platform for Integrators, A Revolution for Clients

We saw this as our opportunity. We are bridging this gap by introducing a platform that allows integrators (like us) to implement robust automations at a fraction of the cost, with a faster turnaround and total hardware freedom.

This approach unlocks a latent market of businesses who previously thought automation was an unaffordable luxury. It turns automation into an investment, not an expense, creating new opportunities for both the end-clients and the integrators who serve them.

Taking it to the Next Level with Xjenza

Our Loop Control Business Platform is the solution.

For years, we have used our own set of internal, battle-tested tools to implement our automations. Now, thanks to Xjenza Malta and the TDP Lite program, we are taking this to the next level.

Through our new project, codenamed “IoTAP”, we are consolidating these tools into a single, unified platform. We will offer this as a SAAS (Software as a Service) product for small integrators, empowering them to diversify their portfolios and build automations that last.

But our vision goes beyond just software. We are building a community by integrators, for integrators. Our proposed partner program will be a hub for:

  • Upskilling through freely available courses.

  • Discussing automation challenges with peers.

  • Gaining access to new tools and shared advantages.

The Future of Automation is Accessible

This is an exciting new chapter for Loop. We believe this platform will have a tidal effect, proving that powerful automation is not just a luxury for the few, but an achievable investment for all.
